The UN’s split personality on abortion

The idea of an international forum in which the world’s nations debate and discuss issues of relevance to all and take actions in unison to safeguard security and human rights is indeed a laudable concept. Unfortunately, that’s not the United Nations. The UN has been co-opted by dictators, thugs, and social-re-engineering radicals to advance an agenda upon the world that is in contrast to morality, human rights, and the sovereignty of peoples.

Here’s the latest example from a column by Janice Shaw Crouse, in which she notes that the UN holds simultaneously upholds two diametrically opposing views of abortion. On the one hand abortion is “morally unobjectionable” and “a woman’s right,” and on the other it is “the most extreme form of violence against women” when used for sex selection.

In spite of the logical inconsistency, the U.N. condemns “pre-natal sex selection;” branding it as a violation of human rights. UNIFEM (United Nations Development Fund for Women) supports a resolution banning sex selection abortions. One of UNIFEM’s publications on eliminating violence against women begins with an acknowledgment that the abortion of females is violence against women and girls.

They even acknowledge that unborn girls are human persons: “At least 60 million girls who would otherwise be expected to be alive are ‘missing’ from various populations as a result of sex-selective abortions or neglect.”

Sex-selection abortion is bad, all abortion is bad
