Amy Welborn posts excerpts of an interview with Pope Benedict’s brother Georg and I especially liked this tidbit:
Does it bother you that you are always asked about your brother?
Well, personally I am not so interesting. What is interesting about me is my brother. This does not bother me. Just when people call and want something from my brother, or that I should arrange something with my brother, then I am annoyed. This happens very often.
I like that Msgr. Ratzinger is so open and plain-spoken and self-effacing. There was a time when I felt like him. My brother John is very active throughout the Archdiocese of Boston and for a long time, wherever I went, I was always “John’s brother.” But then I’ve always been proud of my brother so it’s not so bad.
