Pope Benedict is enjoying his new iPod, thank you very much.
The Pope likes to unwind by listening to his iPod. Pope Benedict XVI was given an iPod Nano as a present by staff at Vatican Radio. Officials have loaded it with religious music, plus pieces by Beethoven, Mozart and Chopin.
He has been spotted around the Vatican using his iPod and distinctive white earphones.
According to The Sun a spokesman said: “He is very pleased with the iPod. The Holy Father likes to unwind listening to it and is of the opinion that this sort of technology is the future.”
The Queen, President Bush and Tony Blair all own an iPod.
The image of the Holy Father bebopping through the halls of the Vatican is too funny. Although the white is very appropriate.

You’d think they could have afforded to give the poor guy more than 2 gigs. And would it kill them to spring for the video iPod? I’m just a lowly layman, and I have a video iPod for Pete’s sake. 😀
I wonder if they downloaded JPII’s CD?
Maybe next they can publish his playlist at vatican.va.
If apple releases the rumored red iPod for aids, then only Bishop’s in non-tropical areas won’t have an iPod in their color. (I suppose the discontinued U2 iPod or the discontinued green iPod mini would have worked for cardinals.)
