The gay seminarian document is out

An Italian news agency has an apparently authentic copy of the document on gay seminarians from the Congregation for Education. I have a copy myself. It’s in Italian. I don’t read Italian. Doing my best to get the info up.

  • Number of times the word CELIBACY appears in the Tablet translation of the document: Zero.

Number of homosexuals permitted to receive Ordination under the new directive: Zero.

    John Allen’s credibility: Zero.

Seeing Catholic World News vindicated by Rocco Palmo: Priceless.

I find the translation Rocco posted to be deficient in at least that respect. Priestly chastity is different from priestly celibacy.

I’m amused by his spin. He claims vindication and is apparently a mind-reader because he thinks Phil Lawler’s angry over this document. Actually the document quite nicely vindicates Phil.

As for Rocco’s vaunted predictions, I recall he predicted massive changes in the curia in September and that there wouldn’t be any appointments of American bishops ahead of the conference meeting last week and … We see how that worked out.

I’m a little tired of Rocco’s constant braggadocio. People who talk about themselves to that degree are obnoxious.

If you’re constantly telling others you’re a journalist, you probably aren’t.

Frankly, I find his claim to the title of “dean of the American vaticanisti in training” to be laughable. He has a few friends in Rome and Philadelphia who feed him tidbits, some that pan out and others that don’t.

And so journalists call him for quotes. Yeah, I get those calls too, I just don’t post a brag about it every time I do.

If Rocco wants to be taken seriously and not looked at as a loudmouthed dandy, he should tone it down a notch.

There, I’m glad to get that off my chest.
