The big meeting

The big meeting

Today’s big, top secret meeting between Boston’s Bishop Lennon and the pastors was about money. What else? Basically they said that parishes owe the archdiocese about $8 million in loan payments, pension funding, and medical insurance premiums. He told the pastors that if they can’t afford to pay then they should think about cutting staff and that, as of July 1, lay employees will be sent letters telling them that if the parish doesn’t keep their insurance premiums up to date, they’ll be cut off.
