An Antiochian Orthodox bishop has been suspended from ministry pending treatment for alcohol abuse. The action was taken by the Metropolitan for the Antiochian Church in North America after Bishop Demetri Khoury of Toledo was arrested last week for fondling a woman at a casino while he was drunk.
It’s good to see a bishop take such swift action even against another bishop. Of course, in the current climate, he has no choice but to be this decisive.
