Sorry Senator, try again

John Kerry’s “regular-guy” schtick just doesn’t work. He tries to pretend like he’s just like one of the guys down at the local watering-hole, whose big worry is the pennant race and whether the Red Sox are getting to the playoffs. So at his speech somewhere in middle America after President Bush’s speech, he tries to sound cool by saying that he has really important news ... that the Red Sox have pulled within 2-1/2 games of the Yankees.

Unfortunately, they haven’t. Both the Red Sox and the Yankees won tonight, meaning the Sox are still 3-1/2 games back. It’s a little thing, but it’s telling because it reminds us that John Kerry is not what he claims to be, he’s not one of us.
