The battle at sea has begun. Iraqi boats suspected of laying mines off Kuwait were fired on by a Kuwaiti patrol boat. An Iraqi was killed. Also, a freighter thought to be on a suicide mission to ram a British ship was “driven away” by a US warship, although if it was a suicide mission, I don’t think they’d be detered by a simple warning.
