Iraq is offering bluster and boasts as the US and its allies prepare for war.
- “Saddam Hussein is a courageous leader and will stay in Iraq for a very long time and fight until the last Iraqi bullet,” Deputy Prime Minister Tareq Aziz told the BBC Arabic Service, referring to the Iraqi president.
Sounds eerily familiar, doesn’t it? I seem to remember Saddam promising America that if it invaded Iraq back in 1990-91 it would encounter “the mother of all battles.” It turned out to be something less than that.
