Robbery at Boston’s St. Francis Chapel

Many people who work in Boston know the St. Francis Chapel downtown where the Franciscans offer daily Mass for workers. Unfortunately, it’s also a tempting target for thieves.

Last night at 5:22pm, officers from District 4 responded to a robbery at the St. Francis Chapel located at 800 Boylston Street. On arrival the officers spoke with the Priest who stated a male armed with an 8 inch hunting knife ordered the Priest to empty the cash register. The victim fled not giving anything to the suspect, and the suspect then fled through the Sheraton lobby. Police were the notified that a suspect matching the description of the suspect from the chapel robbed the Boston Flower Shop at 225 Massachusetts Avenue of U.S. Currency. The suspect described as a white hispanic male, wearing a baseball hat, green sweatshirt and blue jeans fled toward St. Stephen’s Street. Detectives continue to investigate these incidents.
