For my first post-Christmas post, I want to apologize for an intemperate remark. Last week, I mentioned that I had received a notice for the Archdiocese of Boston’s Office for Young Adult Ministry cancelling a New Year’s Eve Mass scheduled at a parish where all archdiocesan-sponsored events had already been banned. I was wrong to criticize.
I have since been informed that someone I respect is now running things over there and that she didn’t bother ordering the cancellation before since Cardinal Law’s status was up in the air. And cancelling because of the ban was unnecessary, since Bishop Lennon couldn’t do it anyway. It had appeared fishy to me, but I was wrong to assume. I apologize for the error.
