Partisan media blames partisan media for polarized politics

The mainstream media wonders why people are flocking to alternatives and ends up illustrating why.

The Boston Globe deploys thousands of words in its Sunday edition to decry the destructive effects on politics of the rise of "partisan media", which has poisoned the political atmosphere. They attribute this to the flight of viewers, listeners, and readers from "objective" mainstream media. Yet nearly every example of partisan excess is of conservative and Republican commentators (and each example is written in the most pejorative sense).

Which serves to illustrate exactly why alternative media sources have risen up: Because the mainstream media thinks it's unbiased when it is as partisan and ideological to the left as it accuses Fox News, talk radio and new media like Breitbart.com of being.

Sorry, Boston Globe, but you're only proving the opposite point.
