No free speech for pro-lifers at Harvard

Higher education is a bastion of free speech, academic freedom, and critical thinking … as long as you are liberal and don’t cross the liberal ideology. At Harvard University, a display of 440 American flags representing the 4,400 abortions daily in the US was vandalized.
It wasn’t the first time that a display put up by Harvard Right to Life was vandalized. I guess the lesson they are learning in America’s premier higher education institution is that when you can’t refute someone’s arguments logically or intellectually, shout them down or attack them. Childishness prevails.

But some students have said that individuals have a right to act against displays they find offensive. is ironic since these are the same people who accuse pro-lifers of being Nazis.

  • The answer to both your question is yes, it would be wrong. You don’t compete in the marketplace of ideas by violence, but with the truth. Let the Nazis hold their meeting, but counter it, not with vandalization, but with a debate.

The point is not whether it offends God to rip up the flags—He’s already mightily offended by what they represent. The point is the hypocrisy of those who want their ideas protected while they strip others of the same right.

The First Amendment is not man-made; that would imply that it could be repealed. The Bill of Rights enumerates the rights granted to men by God which government has no right to trample or impede.
