New books in the mail: Chesterton

Just received a couple of new books from Ignatius Press: “Common Sense 101: Lessons from G.K. Chesterton” by Dale Ahlquist, and “The Autobiography of G.K. Chesterton”.

I’m going to occasionally mention new books I receive, either that I’ve bought myself or that I’ve received from publishers that want reviews. I don’t know if I’ll get a chance to write reviews myself, but I will at least try to give my impressions.

Ahlquist says “Common Sense 101” is not a book about Chesterton, but is a book that looks at the world through Chestertonian eyes. The chapter titles give a glimpse at the content with chapters devoted to feminism, puritans and pagans, science, apologetics, and mor, including “Recovering the Lost Art of Common Sense.” That last one alone should be worth the price of the book. Too bad we can’t make it mandatory reading for schools.
