McCormack says protesters need to do more

Bishop John McCormack of Manchester, New Hampshire, was protested during an appearance at a parish on Sunday. In his homily, he referred to the protests:

“We need to rise above our mixed feelings of one another,” he said during the sermon. “. . . We all ask ourselves that question ? ‘Should I do more? Could I do more?’”

He has mixed feelings for the people who are protesting? What does he have to be sore at them about?

Did they knowingly shuffle abusers from parish to parish, putting children at risk? Did they rebuff concerned parents and even lie to their faces? Yet, there he is telling them that they should be doing more. The problem, your grace, is that you didn’t do more, although in some ways we wish you had done less.
