Lexicon for young adult Catholic acronyms

Lexicon for young adult Catholic acronyms

You’ve heard of CINOs, i.e. Catholics in Name Only, but do you know what a CHIM is? How about COGISFAW? FOCID? If not, then you need The lexicon for young adult Catholic acronyms, as posted by Patrick Coffin.

Reminds of our days back in Steubenville coming up with definitions for the “Liberal Catholic Dictionary” or entries for the “Rules for young, orthodox Catholic dating,” (e.g. “You can ask her out at Mass, but not during the consecration.”)

  • It’s great! I would’ve posted this on Patrick’s site but his “blogger comments” seems on the fritz. Anyway:

Wonderful, Patrick! Although I’m not a “young” Catholic (actually, nobody’s really accusing me of being “adult” either!) but I recognize myself into two acronyms:

    FOYC wink

    and FOFEBA

  • Ahhh!  I meant to say BAWOG.  I don’t actually go to Stubenville, I only hear the acronym from my (male) friends there.  Sorry for the misspelling.
