Gov. Keating has an op-ed in the New York Times today discussing his resignation and where he hopes to see things go after he’s gone.
I was ambivalent about Keating. I thought he said some dumb things, especially in the beginning, and did some inadvisable things, like meet with Voice of the Faithful, but I also agree with him that certain members of the hierarchy act like the Mob. That’s not to say that they are an evil criminal enterprise, but that there’s a definite code of silence and conspiracy among some to cover up their ... sins? misdeeds? crimes?
