Today is the day the Massachusetts Supreme Court is releasing its decision on gay marriage. It will happen at 10 am. There’s not much suspense about what they will do. The only question is how far they will go. Will it be civil unions a la Vermont, or full gay marriage?
The court was probably waiting for the state constitutional convention to pass by so that their decision wouldn’t cause a groundswell of outrage and a subsequent demand for a constitutional amendment. But since the convention was adjourned without doing any business (or canceled or however you want to look at it), there’s no need to wait any longer.
