You did know that today only you can go out and get a free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream cone from one of their stores, didn’t you? I may not agree with their politics, but they make yummy ice cream. And since I didn’t pay anything for it, I’m not supporting their pet liberal causes! In fact, you could argue that by eating their ice cream for free, we’re taking money away from them…
I had a couple of errands to run downtown so Melanie came along and we walked down to the store. And since it’s a fairly nice day in town, it was a nice way to walk off the calories.
At least they care about SOMETHING.
Right. I’m sorry, but I totally missed the connection between free ice-cream and the sad death of a police officer and the case of the man who killed him. I am sure that there is a link there somewhere, but for the life of me, I can’t figure out what it is. Can you help me out a bit here?

On the other hand, I hope lots of the nieces and nephews got the opportunity to eat free ice cream and drive their parents crazy with their happy sugar highs.

I think it’s much ado-doo about nothing. After all, every Irish pub in Boston serves Black & Tan drinks. Some people are just looking to be offended by anything.
