The local media is reporting that yesterday Cardinal Sean O’Malley celebrated his first Mass as a cardinal” on Saturday afternoon at St. Theresa of Avila Church in West Roxbury. Not exactly. It’s his first public Mass in Boston. Obviously, the cardinal celebrated Mass last weekend in Rome and has undoubtedly celebrated private Masses all week here. But I know what they’re trying to say. Still, I wish there were more people in the mainstream media who reported on the Church and actually knew more about it.
