I feel good

Over all, I’m pretty happy with the Red Sox coming home with a 1-1 split from Yankee Stadium. Pettitte and Mussina are almost always good against the Sox, and to take that game from Mussina was big. Even last night, the Sox kept close for most of the game, and a few clutch singles would have changed the outcome.

That is, until Sauerbeck came in to the game. Has the guy had a single good outing with the Red Sox? Even one? The poor reliever’s name is almost becoming a curse-word. I’m not even sure what he’s doing on the playoff roster. I would rather see Byung-hyung Kim out there, and he’s almost a mental case right now.

Still it was good to see Nomar hitting. Now we just have to get Mueller and Millar to start hitting at the same time Manny and Ortiz are hitting. Add Walker and Damon back to the lineup and you’re back to a potent offense.

Game 3 between Pedro and Clemens is by no means a lock for the Sox, but I would rather have Pedro out there anyone else in baseball.
