Here it comes!

Here it comes!

Phil Lawler at Catholic World News reports that Pope Benedict called the leaders of the Roman Curia together Saturday morning for an unannounced meeting.

You what this means, of course … He’s telling them what he wants for his birthday on Monday: “A nice little ceramic kitty cat for my papal throne would be nice.”

Or is there something else he could be prepping them for….?

  • Can we turn this into a “Curt Jester” post???

“Guys, I hate to be the one to break it to you, but it looks as though James Cameron was right.  And all this * waves hand at all the beauty and glory of the Vatican * is bunk”

    or

“Newsweek said I should travel more.  You guys want to go to Jamaica for a little R&R?”

hahaha! the word I have to enter below is “fact25” !!

  • There is a far weightier communication that is expected from Rome in the near future: the communication abou the Church in China. That is more likely to involve all dicastery heads than a liturgical motu proprio.

  • Sorry, Dom, for posting twice, but I just read that Vatican Radio announced that the sole subject for discussion at yesterday’s meeting was the Pope’s upcoming trip to Brazil.

  • Well, I hope we will finally be assigned a bishop!  It is almost three years now and our retired bishop Foley, has had to have knee replacement surgery and I am told can hardly walk.

  • The Feast of St. Pius V is coming up at the end of the month. I’d guess that’s the most likely-and appropriate-time that this will come out. Then again; ya never know!

  • Ah, Brazil? The same place where Archbishop Milingo is, with the support of Rev Moon, at least reporting increased support for dissent rather than simple petitions for the Church’s mercy? I think he plans to leave by the Pope’s scheduled visit, but maybe, since the Catholic News Agency has published the Pope’s entire Brazil itinerary, the Pope is reminding his brothers to pray for his Brazilian trip! Looked at from another angle, it might take the voice of “Peter” to undo the influence of Moon in Brazil!
