Forgive, yes; forget, no

Now that the Scandal is “over,” at least according to some bishops who think the publication of the John Jay report signals that the Scandal is history, we have some clergy who were sidelined in the mess trying to get back into circulation. For example, there’s Archbishop Rembert Weakland who resigned in 2002 after admitting he paid $450,000 of the archdiocese’s money to a former homosexual lover to shut him up.
