Florida court decision is fatally flawed

Fr. Rob comments on an article by Walter Weber at National Review Online on the Florida Supreme Court’s decision overturning Terri’s Law. Weber says that the decision is “fatally flawed” and it is judicial arrogance and judges once again ignoring the will of the people.

Fr. Rob points out that Terri Schiavo’s case is an illustration of how judges protect their power over life and death and their ability to make arbitrary rulings of fact without any possibility of review. It’s scary that a court can now deprive you of your life without due process or regard for your rights.

Someday some pro-abortion, pro-euthanasia advocate may say this: “First they came for the unborn and I didn’t speak up. Then they came for the disabled and I didn’t speak up. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak up for me.”
