More than 25,000 Spaniards have asked the Church to excommunicate them. The demand is part of a protest of the Church’s decision to excommunicate a Nicaraguan couple, a medical clinic, and leaders of a feminist group who procured an abortion for the 9-year-old daughter of the couple. The Vatican papal nuncio said he would send the petitions on to the Vatican.
Methinks that the protesters have excommunicated themselves. I doubt that they were good devout Catholics to begin with if thi is how they react to an abortion.
