Embarrassing parents

Embarrassing parents

None of us should be held responsible for what our fathers do. Mel Gibson’s dad is raving like a lunatic. He’s denying the Holocaust again.

Should we interpret Gibson’s defense of his father from attacks as approval of what he says? No. A son remains loyal to his father, loves his father, despite what he does, even if you disagree with what he does, although I can imagine Mel calling his dad and asking him to stuff a sock in it, please.

  • Thank you Lord that I’m not famous because with the family I have I would be accused of worse things than Mel Gibson is being accused of. Just because a parent rants or has very extreme views and may no longer have the correct mental facilities does not mean the child holds the same extreme views as the parent, no matter if the child is still a child or a adult. Mostly likely Mel feels compassion for his father but at the same time he’s probably embarrassed by his views too. Most normal rational adults that have grown up with someone who is extreme in their views is normally well adjusted and can see the wrong in what the parent says even if they don’t agree with the parents actions.
Thank goodness we don’t have laws that make us guilty of our parents views or I think most of us would be behind bars.

  • sad… No wonder why Gibson put special emphasis on Simon of Cyrene. Such a public cross to carry…
