Discovering St. Paul’s tomb

At Catholic World News, we reported today that archeologists think they may have discovered the tomb of St. Paul in the basilica of St. Paul-Outside-the-Walls. And, what do you know, it’s the one that tradition had always said was Paul’s tomb, just like Peter’s tomb is where everyone always thought it was. Nice to know that despite science’s skepticism, tradition can be proved right again.

“The tomb that we discovered is the one that the popes and the Emperor Theodosius (379- 395) saved and presented to the whole world as being the tomb of the apostle,” Filippi reports.
