DiLorenzo makes orthodoxy diocesan policy

Bishop Francis DiLorenzo of Richmond is getting a running start in his new diocese. Last month, he appointed a new diocesan theologian, part of whose job is to approve those who may speak at parishes. He’s also dismissed the “sexual minorities” commission that advised his predecessor on gay and lesbian concerns (repent and embrace chastity!) and then fired a woman from the women’s commission because she supports ordaining women. This is how a new bishop cleans house.

This is almost like the “candid advice to an incoming bishop” that Diogenes offered in the March issue of Catholic World Report.

  • He’s driving the teaching changers out of the temple!!!  I really hope that this good exaple is noted by many of his brother bishops.

  • Wow!  This is the bishop I want!!!

Actually, we have just gotten a new bishop – and he replaces a man severely compromised by the homomolestation scandal.  I pray that he be like this one – and that he take Diogenes’ advice.

I just want a bishop who believes in and is faithful to Catholic truth.

Is that too much to ask?
