Blog for Relief Day

Today is the official BLog for Relief Day in which bloggers across the spectrum are taking time to encourage their readers to contribute to a relief agency of their choice for victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Here’s what to do:

  1. Pick a charity. (I recommend either Catholic Charities or the Knights of Columbus.)

  2. Make a donation, by phone, by mail, or by Internet.

  3. Go to this page and log your contribution.

Let the blogosphere’s heart show through. Let people see we’re not just a bunch of blowhards, using up air and doing nothing about the problems of the world. I know that the vast majority of you have probably already given or plan to give, so let your gift also be a witness to your Catholic faith in action.

More information on the Blog for Relief Day is available at Instapundit and TTLB.

  • I’ve given money to them in the past. They’re not specifically Catholic, from what I remember, but are evangelical. I think some Catholic musician was endorsing them and I gave them some money years ago.

I don’t know specifics of how much of the money donated ends up in the hands of the needy. I know that Catholic Charities gives 100%.
