The wedding, 4 days to go

The wedding, 4 days to go

Everything is moving smoothly toward the wedding. Melanie’s family is in town and guests are beginning to arrive. Plus I’ve been musing on the nature of my vocation.

  • Yes, John, we are.  The evidence increases every day.  One is tempted to see an end-time scenerio, though doing so is usually foolish since none can know the day or the hour.

As I watch the evidence unfold, I am driven more and more anxiously into the arms of God, knowing with ever-increasing conviction that there is really nowhere else to go.

  • Excellent, Dom.  Congratulations again.  It’s great that you see it as a vocation because it is indeed just that.  God has called you to it.  Remember that when there are days in the future that aren’t as rosy as they are now, and God will see you through.

  • So you’re on a vocation vacation! ;^)

All the best, and may our Heavenly Father bless you both with many beautiful children!

  • Just keep rehearsing, “Yes, hon,” until it sounds so real.  And remember, nature has saddled male nature with the terrible flaw of needing problems to have solutions, so get your EEM (endless empathy machine) up and running.

Zeriously volks, I’m excited for you two.  Enjoy the honeymoon candy stage.  It’s a great gift from God.

    Is it Nova Scotia?

  • Good idea not to tell anyone else they were invited to the pub. It’s all about strategy, I guess!

Congratulations again. It’s a real *joy* to hear of a truly orthodox Catholic couple marrying smile

    God bless –

  • Hey Dom:

I read your post about your first date: I wouldn’t have asked to kiss; my philosophy is to go for it and talk about it later [you’ll know whether or not she’s interested without the awkward question!] smile  But you two did just great!  Maybe I should take some lessons from you! smile

I think your story is a wonderful “testimony” for single Catholics who are looking for someone with whom they can share their faith.  Congratulations!

  • You will never forget your time in both places.  If you want, I can send along tidbits and great things to see/do.  I mean, it’s only your honeymoon, what else is there to do but obey my tourist commands?

  • I hope the wedding is fun, and the marriage a source of endless joy.  Also hoping you two have many children and that you homeschool all of them from beginning to end!

God bless, and thanks for the good work you do here and at CWN!
