Attack! Attack!

The lawyer for some of the Boston abuse victims claims Bishop Lennon knew about a pervert priest but didn’t alert law enforcement. (scroll down) Mitchell Garabedian says documents show Bishop Lennon, as a canon lawyer, knew about the case of Fr. Paul Mahan in 1995 because he was doing the paperwork for his laicization, but didn’t tell civil authorities. Legally, Lennon didn’t have to.

Meanwhile, Garabedian’s been settling lawsuit over pervert priests for years. How many times has he alerted civil authorities?

As for Mitchell Garabedian, he says he will be going through more church documents over the next few weeks and hopes to get a better idea of how involved Bishop Lennon may have been in covering up the church’s problems in the past.

In other words, he’s looking for dirt that he can use as a club against the archdiocese to try to compromise Lennon and get more favorable settlements. Pretty sleazy.
