I’ve been asked to make a few announcements of events for Catholics in the Boston area:
- Attorney Phil Moran, Founding Member and Director of Massachusetts Citizens for Life, will be the featured speaker at the PAC For the Civil Rights of Unborn Children on Sunday morning, October 15, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Memorial Avenue, Chicopee, Mass. Phil is a Knight of Malta, a fellow parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church in Salem, and my attorney. He’s also appeared on national TV shows, including Fox News, the O’Reilly Factor, Court TV, and others. - The Boston archdiocese’s Office for Young Adult Ministry will be hosting a Theology on Tap in Lowell, Mass., at the Brewery Exchange on October 17, 7-9 pm. Cardinal Sean O’Malley will speak on the topic “We believe in One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church…But Why?” Future events will be held monthly.
- On Wednesday, October 11, the Vocations office of the Boston archdiocese will host the second event in its fall series for Christ Speaks in the City. Andreas Widmer, CEO of OTF Group and a former Pontifical Swiss Guard under Pope John Paul II will speak on “My Faith in Capitalism: Reflections of a bodyguard to Pope John Paul II.” I’ve heard some of his stories secondhand and I think this will be a great talk. The event will be held at the Old State House, 206 Washington Street, Boston, 12:00-1:00 pm and a light lunch will be provided.
