Here’s another Boston-area parish slated for closure that is dealing with their circumstances in an appropriate manner. In fact, they’re taking their loss and turning it into a gain for the mission of the Church.
St. Alphonsus in Beverly is going to build an eponymous church in the Dominican Republic and send some of their existing funds as well as furniture and sacred objects for it. This doesn’t mean that people weren’t sad and angry, but they’ve moved on and learned to accept the reasoning for why it had to be done.
