Very sad news. Baby Susan Torres, the daughter of a woman who stayed on life support until her baby could be born on August 2, died herself over the weekend. She died of heart failure yesterday after emergency surgery to repair a perforated intestine.
I can’t imagine the pain being suffered by the mother and daughter’s family. My heart goes out to them and my prayers are certainly with them. It’s hard to find consolation in this, and when it’s not your own family it can seem flippant or easy to say, but someday they can solace in the pro-life witness that both Susans provided to the whole world because of the global media coverage they received.

This is indeed sad news. I followed the story of the woman who stayed on life support and rejoiced when her child was born.
Now I am so sorry to learn of the death of that child.
