This type of story has reached a real fever pitch as we approach tomorrow’s announcement of parish closings in Boston. This one profiles Sacred Heart parish in Boston’s North End, the Italian neighborhood. As usual, we have the story of a multi-generational family that is upset that the backdrop for all the family sacraments may close. But what’s wrong with this picture?
“The funny thing will be those Chistmas/Easter Catholics who show up at their parishes next December 25 and find an Assembly of God or AME Zion church in its place,”
It seems to me the question should be:
Why are Assemblies of God churches thriving while Catholics are being forced to shut down all their parishes?
