Perhaps you’ve seen the story that broke yesterday about the 1st-grader from Lexington who was beaten up by other students allegedly because his dad is famed for opposing the indoctrination of students in public schools in “the glory that is homosexuality.” According to reports, the attack was planned and premeditated to occur on May 17, the two-year anniversary of the first issuance of marriage licenses to same-sex couples in Massachusetts.
I’m not saying the attack wasn’t planned or premeditated, but I can’t help but be a little skeptical that a group of elementary school students took it upon themselves to attack a first-grader on a symbolic date to make an apparent political statement. I also find it incredible that any adult would incite them to such an act (although I suppose it’s not unimaginable.) So here’s what happened:
On May 17 - the two-year anniversary of same-sex “marriage” in Massachusetts - David Parker’s first-grade son, Jacob, was dragged and beaten at the Estabrook Elementary School in Lexington during recess, receiving multiple blows to the chest, stomach, and genital area.
Last year David Parker was arrested and made national news over the school’s refusal to notify him when adults discuss homosexuality or transgenderism with his son, then in kindergarten. The school system has continued to refuse to notify any parents. On April 27, 2006, Parker, his wife, and another family filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the school system.
During the recess period, a group of 8-10 kids suddenly surrounded Jacob and grabbed him. He was taken around the corner of the school building out of sight of the patrolling aides, with the taunting and encouragement of other kids. Jacob was then positioned against the wall for what appeared to be a well planned and coordinated assault. Many children stood, watched silently, and did nothing as the beating commenced.
We’re subsequently told that the school concluded the attack was planned and premeditated, that none of the bullies was suspended but were given “diversity” training instead, that the school library keeps on permanent display two editions of the local newspaper with big front-page stories about David Parker’s battle against the school, and that a group of adults in town maintain an anti-Parker web site and regularly include children in anti-Parker demonstrations.
Is it possible that these very tolerant and diverse liberals have created an atmosphere of hatred and intolerance such that it has affected their children and turned them into violent bullies? I think it’s possible. But, shoot, it boggles the mind that it could be true.

Public schools? It is coming to Catholic schools as well, like it or not. So we better start doing something other than watching it happen in front of our very eyes.
If library personnel have made a permanent display about one family’s conflict with the school bureaucracy, they are creating a hostile educational environment.
Maybe we should ask Governor Romney to walk this kid into school and give a little talk about civil rights enforcement.

I remember just years ago people said these things would never happen, maybe things are far futher along than we might like to think.

They are way farther along than most people want to allow themselves to realize. Our desire to enjoy the good things that our blessed fortune gives us makes us unwilling to stand up like the David Parkers for decency, truth, even God because of the suffering that awaits those who do.
I fear for our children and grandchildren because our leaders and media are lulling our Western societies into their own death spirals. When I think of the sacrifices that our ancestors made for our freedoms and present prosperity, I could weep.
