I went home and got Theresa and the kids to bring them to meet their new nephew/brother. They took to him immediately and were very happy to meet him.

You have a beautiful family, congratulations!
As for the diabetis, once you change your food habits your blood sugar will probably come down and, God willing, if you can maintain a normal weight you blood sugar might go back to within a normal range. This is the message I am telling myself.
