Indiana Jones is back and he’s bringing Speed Racer, Iron Man, and Prince Caspian

Paramount Pictures has officially announced that the next Indiana Jones movie is set for release on Memorial Day weekend, 2008. They haven’t announced an official title yet, but I’m betting on “Indiana Jones and the Search for the Lost Metamucil.” I mean, I love Harrison Ford, but how old is he now? And if you go by his current age, won’t we be well past World War II and into the 50s? Wasn’t part of the charm of the movies that they felt like the old-time movie serials that took place in the epic ‘20s and ‘30s? Seriously, I am looking forward to this movie anyway, having been at just the right age back in 1980 when “Raiders of the Lost Ark” came out for it to have a serious impact on my formative years.

Other movies slated for release in May 2008 are “Iron Man”, “Speed Racer”, and—most importantly—“Prince Caspian.” That will be a good time for movies.

  • I actually have a photograph of Indiana Jones’s grave in Berlin, MD. He passed away in 1969 (I think – I don’t have the picture at hand at the moment) born in 1898. If they set the movie in late WW II or immediately after, it would not strain credulity.

Also, being of the female persuasion, I enjoy heck out of the movies. I also like the 3 Stooges.

  • Oh, well. Another long-held myth shattered. I still don’t get the point of those films (i’ve been told that part of the point is that there is no point)but that’s ok. I had to watch “The Princess Bride” three times before I could stop looking for meaning and just laugh…
