Hope

The light at the end of the tunnel is either the exit or a train coming the other way.

We have reason for cautious optimism. Melanie’s doctor called tonight, yes, at 8:30 on a Saturday night to tell her that he got the results of the biopsy two days early and the results were negative for cancer. Now, to be clear, there were definitely cancerous cells in the tissue from the miscarriage and he had assured us that there was a very small chance that the there was no cancer in the uterus. Could we be in the small window?

Of course, we can’t get too excited yet. The doctor wants to be cautious and do another check, which I wholeheartedly support. Next week sometime Melanie will go in for a hysteroscopy (a small camera inserted into the uterus) and a D&C to make sure. The biopsy could have missed the cancer cells. We must not get too excited, but we remain hopeful.

I ask you to continue to pray for Melanie for a complete healing and for the Holy Spirit to guide her doctors and nurses and the lab technicians and everyone.

Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, pray for her.

  • Praise God !

Hope is a wonderful thing, without it we have nothing.(Father Corapi quote)

I will continue to pray for a complete healing for Melanie.

  • I can’t help but tell you that that has been my prayer for you, that the biopsy will show error on the original.

Still is my prayer for you.

  • I will pray for Melanie and ask others to do so. I just read this cause I’m mostly not “slogging” during Lent. God bless you and your family, Dom.

  • I have offered prayers for the both of you at Holy Mass today and Adoration yesterday.  I know that the two of you have been through alot with this miscarriage and now the threat of Cancer.  God bless you and we will continue to pray for you both.

  • Dom,

I just read about your wife has been going through. Man, it must be really scary for both of you, to say the least. Its good to hear the first tests came back negative but I will pray for you and your wife that the second tests come back negative as well.

    Yours in Christ,
      Joe M.

  • Dom and Melanie,

You have been in my prayers, and will continue to be.  I just wanted to let you know that there are many out there praying who haven’t left a comment.
