The global warming claim is built on a lie
Orson Scott Card tells us about a scientific hoax scandal that affects one of the biggest stories in the media right now, yet no one has heard about it. A famous study released by a UN-funded researcher is the basis of all kinds of claims that global warming is increasing so fast in our time that the shape of the temperature rise on a chart is that of a hockey stick.
Except it’s all allegedly a lie knowingly perpetrated by the researcher to advance an ideology rather than the truth.
The Hockey Stick Hoax should be a scandal as big as the discovery of the Piltdown Man Hoax. Bigger, really, since so much more is at stake.
But because the media are dominated by True Believers, they are doing everything they can to maintain the hoax, to keep the public from learning the truth.
What were those bad numbers Mann plugged in to get his fake results? Modern bristlecone pine tree-ring data in which recent tree rings showed the widths that would normally mean unusually warm weather.
However, these trees were located near temperature recording stations that showed lower than usual temperatures. So instead of being a sign of warmer temperatures, the tree rings are actually responding to the increased CO2 levels.
Even the heading on this bristlecone pine study clearly stated that the wider tree rings did not indicate higher temperatures. But Mann plugged them in as if they did, producing the one dataset that showed “warmer weather” (i.e., wider tree rings) in recent years, allowing the defective software to produce its hockey-stick result.
The bristlecone pine study was real science. Mann’s use of it was deliberately fraudulent.

In fact, much of what we “know” about global climate change (notice it’s no longer called “global warming” since in fact the earth’s temperature has started to drop) is based on ideology, falsehood, and error. Card claims that all the computer models predicting the future of the climate are wrong, illustrated by the fact that if you run them with data from the 70s or 80s, they can’t even predict what actually happened in the 90s or 2000s.
The bottom line is that there is no challenging the fact that the climate is changing. In fact, it is always changing. The real question is whether it is being caused by human activity and whether the current change is unusual. When I was in Paris in August 1997, I heard it said that it was the hottest summer on record since the 1700s, as if that was proof of global warming. My thought was, “So it was warmer in the 1700s.” The reality is that the Earth goes through periods of cooling and heating. In the Middle Ages, Europe was much warmer than it is even now, as evidenced, for example, by the types of crops being recorded as grown in areas they would never grow today. That was followed by a cooling period of about 400 years called ”The little Ice Age,” in which winters were long and harsh and snow fell in Europe and North America as late as June in some years. (Note that the “2001 IPPC” report used in those articles in a partial attempt to debunk the claims is in fact the study that Card notes is fraudulent.)
Is the Earth cooling or is it warming? Is climate change caused by human activity? These are important questions whose answers will have an enormous impact on the lives of generations, including potentially driving many peoples into poverty because of the burden of certain restrictions on economic activity. That’s why it’s so important that we try to answer them without ideology and without lies.
Unfortunately, the True Believers already know the desired conclusion and all contradictory evidence must be purged. But that’s not science, it’s religion. And the mass media continues to bamboozle the public in thinking otherwise.

There was a really good documentary called “Global Warming Swindle” from UK Channel 4. I saw it on “The Cafeteria is Closed.” Although, I’d like to know what those who believe in it would respond by saying.
I wonder how much and how it will play out with the politics mixing in with science about the global warming discussion.
With politicians and public figures like Al Gore, John Edward, and Prince Charles warning us of doom and gloom, while living in extraordinarly spacious digs, and pushing an agenda, I can’t help but wonder that in the long run a great disservice is being done to science and reasoned analysis.
