    Thanks everyone!

Bob, how did you know that was the Old Testament reading at our Mass?

+ Dom: what are you doing reading this blog!? Go be a husband!!

United States Posted by gsk  on  08/14/05  at  05:44 PM

I knew someone would say something. smile

We were just watching our video on my computer and decided to check the comments on this thread.

We’re getting ready to leave in the morning and packing and such. Don’t worry, I’m not cruising blogs. smile

But do check back once in a while this week; I have Melanie’s permission to post occasional updates when possible.

Italy Posted by Domenico Bettinelli  on  08/14/05  at  05:56 PM

May our Lord richly reward and bless your marriage!  Thanks for posting the photo!  You both look fulfilled, content and happy to embark on a lifetime journey as husband and wife.

I have Melanie’s permission to post occasional updates when possible.

    You’re blessed, Dom o’ Mine.

We were just watching our video on my computer and decided to check the comments on this thread.

Uh…would this be before you actually created a thread to be posted on? wink

    Love,

    Kelly

“Now, Lord, you know that I take this wife of mine not because of lust, but for a noble purpose. Call down your mercy on me and on her, and allow us to live together to a happy old age.”

I was hoping to find a picture here!

    Melanie, your dress is georgeous.

Looks like your wife has everything under control, Dom, and she already has assumed the wifely role of woman-who-makes-sure-her-man-looks-good!  wink

Congratulations and best wishes to both of you!  Have a happy honeymoon.

United States Posted by Carrie  on  08/14/05  at  06:51 PM

Congratulations to both of you on this blessed occasion.

May the Lord bless and keep both of you.

May the Lord’s face shine upon and be gracious to both of you!

May the Lord kindly look upon and give both of you peace!

It’s good that Dom and Melanie didn’t take off right away.  Michael Medved suggested in 1996 that couples look to a Jewish custom in which the first week after the wedding is spent installing the new couple in the home and community in which they will live.  It’s a good idea.

“Bob, how did you know that was the Old Testament reading at our Mass?”

Well, of course I didn’t.  My brother-in-law is getting married next Sunday and I have been searching out Scripture for their wedding.  Guess I’ll use that one!

Try Judith 13: 8-11 instead for an idea of what you might be in for if you don’t tread the straight and narrow!

    Good luck and blessings.

“I have Melanie’s permission to post occasional updates when possible.”

Not too many for the rest of the month, I trust, old man. But we all wanna know when to expect a little Bettinelli running underfoot.

All in God’s time. Ad multos annos!!!

For a little bit of post- wedding humor, now that you are married, remember the man who asked his priest if every possible situation in life was addressed in the Bible.  When the priest answered yes, the man asked, “Does it say anything about PMS?”  The priest reflected for a moment and said, “yes- it is written that Mary rode
Joseph’s ass all the way to Jerusalem!”
    Congratulations!

A beautiful bride and a handsome groom.  Melanie found a dress that is both modest and gorgeous, and the mantilla is the crown of the outfit.
Here’s hoping for a honeymoon baby!

In the Garden of Eden, God said, “It is not good that the man is alone; I will make him a helper like himself . . . The Lord God cast the man into a deep sleep and, while he slept, took one of his ribs and . . . the rib which the Lord God took from the man he made into a woman, and brought her to him. Then the man said, ‘She now is bone of my bone, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, from man she has been taken” (Genesis 2:18, 21-24).
Congratulations and God’s blessings upon your marriage.

Dom, all my friends have said several times that yours was the best wedding that they have ever attended. I agree, but of course, I’m biased.

United States Posted by .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  on  08/19/05  at  02:28 PM

And also for the record, that was pure Dom-bait. If he were an LA-boy, I’d have said “Go Giants!!!”)

And also for the record, if the Yankees went 0-162, I’d still want them in the post-season, so I could see them lose at least a few more games.

And also for the record ... am I forgetting anything ...

    Oh, yeah ...

We went to Nova Scotia and PEI and had a great time. Beautiful country! Now back to real life: opening mail, cleaning house, deleting all the junk from the inbox…
Thanks so much for all the prayers and kind wishes. We are so blessed to have so many friends.

    Mazel tov!

12 years ago my wife and I (and a then 2-yr old and a 6 month old) toured the entire NS landmass in 10 days, making a complete ring around the coast.  Best vacation ever.
