Be careful what you wish for

Overheard in our house recently:

Melanie: “I’ve lost 15 pounds since the delivery already.“

Me: “Really? That’s great.“

Melanie: “Yeah, they say that breast-feeding helps you lose weight faster.“

Me: “I wish I could breast-feed.“

LOL.

Dom, I wish Melanie better luck than I’ve had. I lost quite a bit within the first 10 days or so and then it just stopped and I’ve been nursing my daughter for 4 months now.

I can’t wait for Fr. Jim Clark to chime in on this one!

HEY FR. JIM:  THIS TIME, YOU DON’T NEED GLASSES!

The first 10 days were probably water loss from the hormone changes.  I didn’t find that I could eat anything and ignore my weight while nursing either…but people vary on this one.  Nursing does have a lot of advantages other than this though.

Domenico, uh, you shouldn’t try this.  Thomas, there’s more to this than chest markers.  wink
