Dom, I wish Melanie better luck than I’ve had. I lost quite a bit within the first 10 days or so and then it just stopped and I’ve been nursing my daughter for 4 months now.

I can’t wait for Fr. Jim Clark to chime in on this one!
HEY FR. JIM: THIS TIME, YOU DON’T NEED GLASSES!

The first 10 days were probably water loss from the hormone changes. I didn’t find that I could eat anything and ignore my weight while nursing either…but people vary on this one. Nursing does have a lot of advantages other than this though.
Domenico, uh, you shouldn’t try this. Thomas, there’s more to this than chest markers.

Be careful what you wish for
Overheard in our house recently:
Melanie: “I’ve lost 15 pounds since the delivery already.”
Me: “Really? That’s great.”
Melanie: “Yeah, they say that breast-feeding helps you lose weight faster.”
Me: “I wish I could breast-feed.”
